Our Mission

Welcome to Michigan Cat Rescue!
 
Our mission is to not only rescue as many homeless, abused, and abandoned cats as possible but also to provide them with proper veterinary care and placement into loving homes.
 
Unfortunately, we cannot afford a building so all of the cats we rescue live in foster homes with volunteers who care for and love them until a permanent home can be found. Many of our cats come from horrible situations and they ALL deserve a second chance.

Who is Michigan Cat Rescue?

Michigan Cat Rescue was founded on April 11, 2003. We are an IRS qualified 501(c)3 charitable organization and State of Michigan non-profit organization. We are a no-kill rescue made up of a small network of volunteers. Many of our cats are rescued from high kill shelters and are on death row. We also rescue cats that have been abandoned, abused, and neglected.

 

Since we are a small organization all of our cats are placed into foster homes and given the care and love that they need until forever homes can be found. All of our cats are fully vetted and cleared before adoption. We rely solely on donations and community support to care for our cats. Since our founding in 2003 we have saved the lives of thousands of cats.
